FTE Innovation Nominated Finalist for 2015 Automotive News PACE Awards
Auburn Hills, Mich., 28.10.2014: FTE automotive announced that its Hydraulic Gear Shift Actuator Module (GSAM) for DCT`s and AMT´s was chosen as a finalist for the 2015 Automotive News PACE Awards.
The gear shift actuator module (GSAM) has been specifically designed for double clutch transmissions (DCT), while it can also be utilized in automated manual transmissions (AMT). It shifts between gears by converting hydraulic pressure (supplied by a powerpack) into mechanical strokes.
Composed of mainly high tech plastic materials, the GSAM provides a 35% weight saving in comparison to standard gear shift technologies made of steel and aluminum.
"The engineers of our research and development centers are continuously working on new innovations that bring the automotive industry forward. In combination with our customer partner, our engineering team did an outstanding job to make this innovative product a reality. FTE is proud to be nominated as finalist for the PACE Award,” said Dr. Andreas Thumm, CEO of the FTE automotive Group.
