SENSORS
SPECIAL FEATURES
Sensors in the field of clutch hydraulics are applied on clutch master cylinders, as well as on clutch slave cylinders and concentric slave cylinders.
For clutch master cylinders there are two types of sensors:
the position sensor and the travel sensor:
- The position sensor, which is integrated in the clutch master cylinder, functions like a switch and replaces the function i.e. of the start lock and the cruise control switch. Due to the contact-free operating principle, the sensor is noiseless and not subject to wear.
- The integrated travel sensor measures the position of the piston. The sensor signal is proportional to the piston displacement.
- A combination of position sensor and travel sensor is also possible. Sensors for clutch slave cylinders and concentric slave cylinders are travel sensors. They detect the precise position of the release bearing piston.
